To demystify the physiological responses required in your brain for meditative wave frequencies to dominate, we cover them here.

Brain waves are produced by synchronized electrical pulses between masses of neurons communicating with each other in our heads. Brain wave speeds are measured in Hertz, which counts the frequency of wave cycles per second. Our brain waves change according to what we’re doing, thinking, and feeling. Only certain brain waves can enable a deep meditative state.

As humans grow from infancy to adulthood, the brain wave frequencies dominating our mind progress from Delta to Theta to Alpha to Beta. For meditation, we want to regress our dominant brain waves from Beta back to Alpha, Theta and Delta. Read on to understand brain wave progression in human development.
